As the core apparatus in electrical power system, the operation reliability of transformer directly influences the safety of the whole system. In order to insure the stability of power grid, it is indispensable to be reinforced the monitor and diagnosis of the transformer insulation. Partial discharge (PD) inside insulation is considered as one major cause of insulation degradation in transformer and attached importance to the safety and reliability of running transformer. Auto-recognition to discharge types in on-line PD monitoring system could be used to find out internal partial defects and the relevant discharge development degree in time, and then prevents equipment from the coming faults.According to the type and content of gas dissolved in transformer oil, it is easy to conclude the internal insulation faulty of transformer. The paper analyses the influence on the analysis of transformer oil chromatogram induced by different sampling oil spot when conventional analysis of transformer oil chromatogram or on-line analysis of transformer oil chromatogram. The paper introduces particularly the relation between the character of gases dissolved in transformer oil, content of gases, and the type of faults, the degree of the faults.Based on the corresponding relationship between the dissolved gas in oil and the internal faulty of transformer, through the test in test room, the fuzzy relation between the PD and the dissolved gas in oil is induced, which is useful to apply the fuzzy diagnosis to the transformer PD in the future.
