The developments in the strength and the corrosion resistance of the cold-formed steel make it possible to use thinner plates to achieve more economy in building constructions. As one of several strength-governing modes, distortional buckling is receiving more attentions. Based on the existing achievements around the world on the distortional buckling, experimental studies are made to explore the distortional buckling behavior of the cold-formed c-section under axial and eccentric load. Test results are compared with those from the theoretical predictions.
