The DK slope of Xiaowan power station in 2003.12.17. the deform increasingly under blasting loading. The in-site measurements indicate that the slide surface of the DK slope under blasting condition is then studied by dynamic FEM in this paper.The numerical modeling for blasting is first proposed with the consideration of charge weight, detonation mode, type of dynamic characteristic of the rock mass around the hole, distant from the slope, and so on. Secondly based on the predominance of the large software FINAL, the peculiarity of blasting load, the ways to evaluate the stability of the slope under blasting condition is also discussed. Finally the analysis considering the geological features for the stability of DK slope under blasting loading condition is conducted by tracing the behavior of the slide surface, the dynamic contact states of the slope sliding surface under the different charges. Advice are suggested for increasing the stability of the slope.
