In recent years, city metro construction is blooming in China. Many contractors are thrown into the practice of metro construction and gain a few valuable experiences in it. By use of new technology, new work craft, new material and new equipment, to a great extent, they enhance the productivity efficiency, lower construction cost, ensure safety and quality and time limit. Because there are many different circumstances encountered during construction, such as geological condition, a series of new technical challenges will happen and most technicians and scientist are required to keep pioneering spirit all along to overcome them. In this article, such crucial technologies are expatiated in connection with the construction of Contract No.23 in the 1st phase of Shenzhen Metro: Underground Cut with Thin Cover through Fly Bridge, Dewater Method and Water Stop Purdah, Controlling Blasting Method and its Monitoring between New-Built Metro Line and Existing One.
