When a disturbance occurs in the power system, if there is no effective control measure to identify and act, perhaps the system will soon collapse. The separation equipment is the set that can identify synchronous swings or asynchronous swings. Through the analyses to the asynchronous oscillation in power system, by systematic researches on the existing out-of-step criteria of power system, a power system separation device based on the law of changing impedance angle has been introduced in this article. By calculating the impedance in the place where the equipment fixed to identify where the electric center is. It can greatly increase the equipment's sensitivity. By calculating the voltage on the bus to solve the problem of malfunction when the oscillation center fall in equipment installing place.
