Nowadays, the scale of power system is expanding. From 21st century, there have been some large-scale accidents in power grid, which take on characters of voltage instability. Voltage stability became the important factor of safe stable operation of power system. Deep studying and analyzing the power system voltage stability becomes an important task in the research of power system.The research of static voltage stability in power system is based on the analyzing the Q-U characteristic curves of load and provision ends with comparing them in this thesis. With the line resistance ignored, the Q-U characteristic curves of load and provision ends are analyzed in a simple power system and the influence of load fluctuation on them. After obtaining the mathematic models of load and provision ends, the influence of load type components in compositive load on is analyzed.The of analyzing Q-U characteristic curves is on the base of simple power system. After equivalent simple power system presented, it can be used in complex power system expediently. After different equivalent methods, a new equivalent is presented, which adapts to the research of static voltage stability of power system. Its validity is approved by calculated results. Because line resistance is not far greater than line reactance, with considering line resistance, static voltage stability of complex power system has been studied, using the foregoing method.
