The paper has mostly researched into optimization and arrangement of hydraulic engineering foundation ditch precipitation well cluster,and analysed,studied and appraised diversity methods.The paper has adopted object function method and created optimization model of foundation ditch precipitation well cluster. The main contens are as follows.1. Foundation ditch precipitation theories and conventional methods are studied and generalized, the paper discussed principles,methodes,calculation steps and appropriate conditions of 'large well'method and three-dimensional steady seepage finite element technique on optimization and arrangement foundation ditch precipitation well cluster;and appraised generally merits and drawbacks of two methods.2. The paper,according to insufficient section which only considerate water height descending in foundation pitch and high-positive yielding water of single well of previous object function method on optimization model of foundation ditch precipitation well cluster, taked minimum water as object function,taked water height descending difference in center of foundation pitch and maximal and minimum yielding water of single well as bound for objective function ,taked seepagegradient ratio of well and foundation pitch,and maximal deep and radius of wells as controlling condition,established new model to optimizat precipitation well cluster.3.Constraint condition and controlling condition are analysed and studied,the borderline of the model is studied,and the paper illustrated the application in practice.4.Multiform derivationes of optimization mathematic model are studied. The paper calculated hydraulic foundation ditch mathematic model by fmincon majorized function in MATLAB Toolbox and proofed the model by case history.5. The paper,through applying above theories and methods and combining Yingbulu hydraulic foundation ditch precipitation engineering,applied above mathematic model into engineering practice.compared to calculation result of 'large well'method and finite element technique,and tested rationality and availability of the model.
