The study of weathering law of rock mass and the zoning weathering rocks are the important matters of the engineering geological prospecting. The study of zoning weathering rocks can choose the utilizable rock mass in engineering, confirm economic rationally dam foundation surface , reduce unnecessary excavation, save engineering investments, shorten time limit for the project, and it have better economic benefits and social benefits.The weathering law and zoning weather rocks of the foundation rock mass of the Hongkou hydropower station of Ningde in Fujian has been researched in this article. The mathematics model according to research results has been set up and analyzed its stability in this article. It receive economic rational height of the dam foundation surface finally.The physics and mechanics parameters of the rock mass are the quantitative indexes to reflect the weathering degree of rock mass. Parts of weathering rock mass parameter of completed water resources and hydropower engineering at home has been statistic and fit using mathematics method in this article. The result shows that the rock mass physics and mechanics parameters is generally change from weak to strong , by the law which become well of difference in distributing vertically except existence of the geological structure and rock sudden change. The characteristic of district rock mass parameter in dam site can be fit by linear function and binomial function. The binomial fitting is better than the linear fitting. But the linear function analyses can meet general statistics and engineering demand.The multiplex cutting method and fuzzy integration judgment law weather has been used to zoning the rock mass in dam site of Hongkou hydropower station and obtained ideal zoning result through comparing the two kinds of methods in this article. It avoided the dependence to the experience of the qualitative method and using single index method.Finally, models has been set up using research results of the law of rock mass weathering and the study of zoning weathering rocks of Hongkou hydropower station and calculating using in this article. Through comparative analysis it confirmed the dam foundation surface which one meter high than Fujian research institute of reconnaissance and design proposed as economic and rational dam foundation surface.
