Ship motion simulator is a key equipment which is used to simulate ship weaving condition in sailing, and it can finish the simulation in library so as to provide dynamic and static performance test conditions for shipborne equipments and instruments. To compare with ship test in sailing, this equipment has advantages of controllability, nondestructive effect, economical efficiency and reliability, so it is attached importance to the manufacturers of ship equipments and instruments. Parallel six-freedom motion platform, as the carrier of motion simulator, is an important component of ship motion simulator. Controlled by computer, platform provides six-freedom weaving movement in parallel and revolving direction of X, Y and Z axes. It is very important to improve performance of shipborne equipments and instruments (To have an analysis and research on related theories of parallel six-freedom motion table, and design well-behaved motion simulator). And therefore, it has important significance to improve technical level of civil shipborne equipments.Based on the relative technical papers, this paper states simply the research actuality and application fields of six-freedom motion table at home and aboard. According to research actuality of six-freedom motion table, it also does the theoretical analysis and research on kinematics, dynamics, error theory, structural optimization technology and control strategy of table system, gives theoretical computational methods of normal solution and opposite solution of table position, and builds mathematic models of table statics, dynamics equations and table position error computation. In addition to, it has a primary research on the load cross-linking coupled mechanics of six-freedom motion system, which supplies theoretical basis to design motion table with appropriate structure and good performance.In accordance with the motion performance requirement of motion simulator, we design and manufacture the ship motion simulator based on six-freedom motion table structure, especially about its structure system, hydraulic system and computer system. Besides, we also do the test simulation of table motional performance and position error.Finally, we summarized the performance technical index which the motion table possessed. The result indicated that the theoretical analysis and research achievement are sucessful. In addition,the 6-DOF motion system with appropriate structure can satisfy design requirement and give us best effects both on theoretical analysis and equipment development.
