Study On Regional Identity Of Norwegian Contemporary Architecture

In modern social development, it's an inevitable trend for the world to be an indivisible whole. Different countries are depending on each other in politics, economy, culture and 'technique, the mode of development and the concept of value are tending to be the same increasingly. The world civilization in whole is unavoidable. However, on one hand, it has pushed the social progress and development. On the other hand, it broke the cultural variety, caused the similar of building styles and the wane of regional character, weaken the feelings of ownership and self-identity. How to correspond with the natural in architectural development, and how to construct buildings which fit in time and have own characters, these become the problems of the widespread concern in everybody.The Norwegian contemporary architecture follow the modernism, at the same time, have a foothold in local condition, insist on the regional tradition, pay more attention to inherit and innovate the architectural culture, created regional architecture and city appearance with local character and time feature.These have acquired achievement that focus people's attention. The thesis analyse the Norwegian contemporary architecture, research into the diversified influence in its regional architecture, and the technique of expression and characteristics, search the beneficial enlightenment in our country's development.First, the thesis introduced the influence elements and the development process of Norwegian architecture in brief. So, find the position of Norwegian contemporary architecture in lengthways history development, at the same time, describe the regional tradition in Norwegian architectural development.Second, analyzed the concrete performance of Norwegian contemporary architecture. According to the geographical condition, divided Norway into four areas. Used examples which are representative and have universality, looking for amalgamation of the particularity of region natural environment and cultural tradition, technique and art. Then,distinguished the similarities and differences in design principles and technologic expressions. Consequently, summarized the regional identity of Norwegian contemporary architecture.Finally, basing on the above-mentioned research, seek the enlightenment for our efforts on Chinese regional architectural development.
