In recent years, with the development of power electronics technology, inverter is used in every field and the high quality of output waveform is required in these applications. There are two aspects for the quality of output waveform: high steady-state precision and fine transient response. So the study on simple control with good static and dynamic performance is a hot spot in power electronic fields. On referring to lots of literatures, this paper summarizes the current research situation of control techniques of inverters. The main contents of the paper as follows: First, with the theory analysis of the output characteristic of inverter, the paper set up complete MATLAB simulation model of single-phase SPWM inverter basing on the mathematic model of inverter. Second, in order to get high-capability inverter, the paper combine intelligent control with conventional control and summarizes the new designing scheme of single-phase inverter basing on the mathematic model and simulation model: designing scheme of double close-loop control based on fuzzy self-tuning PI; designing scheme of two degree-of-freedom PID controller based on fuzzy self-tuning; Compound control designing scheme of combining fuzzy self-tuning PI control with repetitive control. The paper makes experimental research for its designing scheme of double close-loop control based on fuzzy self-tuning PI. The simulation and experiment results show low THD of output-voltage waveform and the system achieves good dynamic and static characteristic. These three control schemes can satisfy the controlling require of inverter. In addition, a control method of fuzzy control based on internal model of artificial neural network is presented for single-phase SPWM inverter. The method can adapt to the variations of the plant parameter, the performances are still satisfactory under wide operation ranges, robustness and disturbance rejection are greatly improved. The simulation results prove validity of theory analysis.
