Shaking and Jetting reinforcement is a new technology in soil improvement, and it was introduced to our country in 1970s. Because it has many advantages such as explicit mechanism, simple machine requirement, convenient manipulation, not using the normal three construction materials, low price as well as good effects, this technology develops very fast in soil improvement, but till now there is still no engineering case of this technology utilizing in reinforcement in the upstream slope of the sand-shell dam, furthermore, it is unknown whether this technology can be used in the upstream slope of dam, how its effects are, and what kind of construction method should be adopted. This dissertation combines the anti-seismic reinforcement in the upstream s lope o f Andidam, and develops the research on the s haking and jetting reinforcement technology in the sand-shell of upstream. Besides, according to the laboratory tests and field work, the determination of shaking and jetting area of dam, and the mechanism, the construction method and the effects of shaking and jetting in reinforcing sand-shell are studied. The conclusions are obtained as follows:1 The apparatus for shaking and jetting reinforcement technology is introduced. Three effects of this technology are analyzed as shaking hustling, floating shake and consolidation. The mechanism of this technology using in the upstream slope of sand-shell is also discussed.2 A method of confirming the shaking and jetting area is proposed. Static and dynamic response analyses and seismic stability analysis are carried out on the earth dam of Andi dam after reinforcement. Design factors for the shaking and jetting technology in the dam of Andi dam are proposed.3 The proper dam material and filling material for shaking and jetting reinforcement, the construction machines and order and the construction method are studied. Construction technology for shaking and jetting reinforcement in the upstream sand-shell is proposed.4 It is proposed that according to statical cone penetration test, standard penetration test and borehole test, the reinforcement effect can be controlled and examined.5 The vibration acceleration and the dynamic pore-pressure developing properties in the process of shaking and jetting reinforcement are analyzed.6 Construction tests are developed for the shaking and jetting reinforcement. Then shaking and jetting reinforcement technology is proposed on the basis of the test results, and is utilized successfully in anti-seismic reinforcement in the upstream dam slope of Andi dam, which not only resolves the practical engineering problems but also gains significant benefits in both society and economy.
