Reactive Powder Concrete(RPC) is a kind of cement-based composite which hasultra-high strength, high ductility and durability, it was produced in France in 1990's.RPC has great fragility, bad ductility and bursting fragility destruction subjected tohigh or complicated stress, which decrees the work reliability greatly. The fragilityperformance of RPC will be improved if RPC and steel tube which has the ductilityare put together. Therefore the RPC filled steel tube members have advantages of highstrength and good ductility and the future is prosperous. In recent years, Fuzhou University has been engaged in research of mechanicsperformance of axial stub columns of RPC filled steel tube. However, there is no idealaxial columns in practical construction and the compressive members are subjected tobending in a sense. To promote the application of RPC in constructional engineering,it is very necessary to study the mechanics performance of axial stub columns andeccentrically loaded columns of RPC filled steel tube. Based on the experimental study of the 12 eccentrically loaded stub columns and12 axially compressed slender columns with RPC filled steel tube , some positivefruits have yielded: 1. This paper collects the test data on deflection at height,longitudinal strain and ultimate loading capacity, describe the change of figure and the failure patterns of the specimens . 2. The influence of the different hoop coefficient and eccentricity ratio of eccentrically loaded stub columns of RPC filled steel tube on the load-deflection curve character and all the course of work are discussed, The influence on ultimate loading capacity and deflection is analyzed. 3. The influence of the different hoop coefficient and slenderness ratio of axial slender columns of RPC filled steel tube on the load-deflection curve character and all the course of work are discussed, The influence on ultimate loading capacity and deflection is analyzed. 4. A theoretical model that calculates deformation and strengths of eccentrically loaded stub columns and axial slender columns of RPC filled steel tube load-deformation is discussed , which may be a reference for further research. II5. By using other researches and the simplified calculating formula for ultimate loading capacity of axially compressed stub column with RPC-filled steel tube , the simplified calculating formula for ultimate loading capacity of eccentrically loaded stub column and axially compressed slender column with RPC-filled steel tube is suggested. The results of calculation and test are in good agreement.
