By the means of quantitative and qualitative methods,the weathering rock mass of dam foundation of Jin Ling reservoir is zoned. By the means of single element and comprehensive balance methods, each zoned weathering rock mass of dam foundation is evaluated and the conclusion is reached that the results of engineering geologic classification of surrounding rock wall, "the way of San Xia YZP" and the way of fuzzy evaluation are basically identical that most of the weakly weathering rock mass is nice, only small is medium. By the theory of analysis of finite element, the stress and deformation of the dam foundation, assuming the dam was finished, are obtained. From the numerical analysis results, it is reached that the influence of fault for the whole is minor; when slope ratio is 0.6, shearing stress is close to the critical maximum. When slope ratio is 0.75, shearing stress is satisfied; whether the foundation uplift is reckoned in or not, the coefficient of safety of the whole is satisfied, but the local coefficient of safety near the dam toe is too little to satisfy the safety; the rock mass near dam toe require handled.
