Based on the research of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) which is drived by the three-phase sinusoidal current, the different methods for modeling and simulation of PMSM in Matlab have been proposed and a deep research on the application of the Vector Control in the speed control of PMSM has been maked. The thesis emphasizes the illustration of the principle of the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) and it's application in the system, establishes the simulation model of the Vector Control system of PMSM based on the EKF and successfully realizes the application of the speedless sensor in motor control. The reasonability and validity of the EKF programmer in the motor control have been testified by the simulation results. At last, the improved method is proposed according to the decination of the results of the simulation.
