Under generation sector electricity market, a new reactive power optimization is proposed according to the double functions of GRID company. This method that reactive power compensation is considered when units assembling and contributing is ensured in a certain competitive bidding period solves the conflict effectively between power plant competitive bidding—reactive power optimization—total generate electricity power. In order to make the bidding more equitable and reasonable, equal price principle is used in bidding and start-up cost of unit allocation method is introduced to equal price principle, and price curve of units is corrected. At the same time, in order to avoid premature of simple genetic algorithm and improve the precision, the distributing degree of a group is used as a judgment of differentiation in the evolution of reactive power optimization. And the thought of pseudo-parallel Genetic Algorithm is introduced to make every son-group choose, cross and mutation independently, and favorable information is exchanged reciprocally after genetic operation of every generation to boost the evolution toward the more excellent directions. IEEE 14-bus system and Shan xi 330KV transmission network is employed to verify the reasonableness and feasibility of the proposed method.
