The surface modification of the glass holds great promise for applications in industry, agriculture, iatrology, astronomy, military affairs, ordinary life and so on. In this paper the films that can meet the desire of heat insulation, heat preservation and lighting, at the same time, it possess the function of hydrophobic, self-cleaning or hydrophilic, photocatalysis, anti-fog on glass surface were expected to be prepared. The films of SnO2:F+Sb, hydrophobic, hydrophilic were prepared on glass substrate. The SnO2:F+Sb/ hydrophobic(hydrophilic) functional multi-films were also prepared by Sol-Gel process and spray pyrolysis technique. Then we contrast and analysis the performances of the monolayer and multi-films. The effects of film preparation process, structure, component and other factors on the performances of the films were discussed using AFM, SEM, XRD, FTIR, UV-Vis spectrum and so on. The results are listed as follows:(1) The inorganic Al2O3 film with special surface microstructure was prepared by Sol-Gel process. The trimethylsiloxane and fluoroalkylsilane organic films with minimum surface tension were also synthesized. The hydrophobic film was prepared by combining the inorganic and organic. The maximal contact angle of the hydrophobic film achieved 156°. The films hold the better hydrophobic character as well as possess high visible light transmittance by control the preparation process of the films.(2) The TiO2/SiO2 composite hydrophilic film was prepared on glass substrate by sol-gel method. The contact angle of the film is 0 °,which is maintained four days in dark and had super-hydrophilic character. The film possesses high photocatalysis performance. When TiO2/SiO2 composite hydrophilic film is surrounded by vapor, the surface of theglass which is coated by TiO2/SiO2 composite film maintains transparence and there is no adhesion of fogdrop on the film, it is anti-fog.(3) The SnO2 : F+Sb film was prepared on glass substrate by spray pyrolysis technique. It has the Low-E performance. The hydrophobic and hydrophilic films were prepared on the Low-E substrate by Sol-Gel process. These multi-films didn't change the sheet resistant, visible light transmittance and infrared reflectivity, moreover, it had the high hydrophobic and hydrophilic performances. Finally the the films that can meet the desire of heat insulation, heat preservation and lighting, at the same time, it possesses the fuctione of hydrophobic, self-cleaning or hydrophilic, photocatalysis, anti-fog on glass surface were prepared.
