Skew intersection curved cable-stayed bridge is often adopted by engineers because of the beautiful shape and the adaptability to the selection of the line of the highway and railway. In addition, it has strong competition to other types of bridges in the projects of a city. Due to the complex details and stress characteristics of skew intersection curved cable-stayed bridge, traditional calculation method cannot take the task to conduct the stress analysis. In this dissertation, a space model for the Malan river railway bridge of Taishan thermoelectric plant in Dalian is established in MIDAS/CIVIL and it is analyzed based on the grillage simulation.The followings are conducted in this thesis:First of all, the reasonable completed hanger power of the bridge is studied. By comparing it with other method to adjust the hanger power, it is reasonable by the method presented in this dissertation. It is demonstrated that this bridge fully satisfies the criterion in the normal using phase by analyzing the whole model under the unfavourable load combination. And the rules for designing this type of bridge are summed up.Second, the laws of the stress of the skew intersection curved cable-stayed bridge with different inclination are researched. In the cases of the skew done system and the right done system, the stress characteristics of the above mentioned bridges are also analyzed. The influences of the variation of flexural stiffness, torsional stiffness of the main girder, the distance of bearings and the stiffness of end cross beam and middle cross beam on the stress are studied in further. The conclusions for designing a skew intersection curved cable-stayed bridge are drawn.Finally, the reasons for generating the plane displacement of a skew intersection curved cable-stayed bridge are introduced. The laws of variation of the plane displacement are studied in the cases of the bridge acted by different loads, such as the temperature, the shrinkage and creep of concrete, the earthquake action, the centrifugal force, the living loads and so on. The effects of the inclination on the plane deformation are proposed. The method to limit the plane displacement is also studied.By the work conducted in the dissertation, the stress and the space action effect of the skew intersection curved cable-stayed bridge are completely analyzed. All the rules obtained in this thesis can be used as references for designing this type of bridge.
