When the reusable launch vehicle (RLV) rise and reentry, it will bear strong aerodynamic heating. By way to protect the structure, the surface of RLV is covered with thick thermal protection system (TPS). Once the TPS are damaged, the inner structure will expose itself to the hot air, so the structure will break down. If the thing is serious, the disaster will occur.To make the RLV safe, the TPS must be monitored real-time. Once the inner structure is heated, the position and intensity should be got in time as the gist for maintenance and repair.When RLV is heated heat exchange is the mainly behave. This paper creates a sheet structure model heated by a durative point heat source which based on the first generation RLV- space shuttle. The application of heat source method and finite element analysis software ANSYS on heat exchange are described for solving the model and the methods to deduce the position and intensity of heat source is brought forward based on the computing result.To deduce the position of the heat source, the theory analysis and neural network are used, and the efficiency are exhibited. To deduce the intensity of the heat source, the two steps are listed, and a method of one step is brought forward, too.In the end, the computation and discussion are summarized, and the development direction in future is put forward.
