Liquid Rocket Engine (LRE) is widely used in civil and military fields as the main propulsion system for the large launch vehicle and space aero craft. LRE has characters of high complex, high integration and wild knowledge of many different fields, and it is very difficult to simulate the working process of LRE. For a long period, the design technique of LRE can not satisfied with the demands of LRE engineering, and engineers advance towards the design target step by step mostly through tests or depend on former experience. This reality brings us two main problems: firstly, the inefficient design cannot satisfy to the rapid development and flexible requirements of rockets. Secondly, it leads to higher cost especially in the engine tests. For all of these reasons, it imminently asks for developing a kind of advanced professional design tool with high integration in order to improve the design level of LRE.This paper mainly focuses on CAD of LRE design, and present studies on CAD technique of recycled cooling LRE combustion chamber. Based on system analysis of LRE, OOP technique and powerful finite elements analysis software ANSYS, a CAD system has been set up. Several key techniques have been solved successfully. The details are as follows:1. This paper sets up the structure of LRE CAD system, and breakthrough many key techniques. This work prepares a good foundation for further research in this domain.2. As a whole, this paper realizes the CAD software system of recycled cooling LRE combustion chamber. This system integrates many practical engineering design methods, and offers a large amount of design data by using database. The interface of this software is friendly and interactive. So this system has higher values on practicality.3. By using APDL language of ANSYS and multithreading technique of Windows, this software integrates the ANSYS simulation environments, so enriching design tools of this system. By this way, user can solve some difficult problems such as fluid-solid coupling problem.The whole system adopts C++Builder5.0 as the main developing environment. This divides the components of LRE combustion chamber and identifies the interfaces of different components by OOP methods. Under this structure, further developments should focus on enriching and improving every modules. Developer can also import other useful modules to the system by using dynamic linking technique. All of these characters assure the expansibility and the maintainability of this LRE CAD system.
