The novel predictive functional control (PFC) algorithms and its applications areresearched. Firstly, PFC algorithm based on finite step response (FSR) model for single inputand single output (SISO) system is proposed. The algorithm is applied to superheated steamtemperature cascade control system in power plant. Secondly, an adaptive PFC strategy basedon T-S fuzzy model is designed, which is suitable for the plant with large-scale load variety.Simulation results show that the strategy has excellent load adaptability. Thirdly, thealgorithm is further extended to multi-variable case, and PFC based on FSR model formultivariable input and multivariable output (MIMO) system is given. The scheme issuccessfully applied to the unit coordinated control system simulation. Finally, with men'sdecision-making introduced in model switch, multi-model adaptive PFC strategy for MIMOsystem is presented. Plenty of simulation researches are carried out successfully, which showthe advantages of these presented control strategies in this paper.
