The new principle and equipment of relay protection should be testedduring their research and development to validate if they can operatecorrectly or not. The requirement of super-high voltage and large powersystem's safety and stability demands transient characteristics of relaysmore highly. So far most protection algorithms are based on steady statephasor. In order to enhance the characteristic of relay, the impacts of thetransient components during the fault must be calculated. In this paper, Firstly a convenient program for simulating and testingis developed in order to reduce the testing cost and abridge the period ofdeveloping new algorithms. Then the two applications of Bergeron Model inprotection algorithm are discussed, one is the application in differentialequations algorithm, the other is the application in the compensation ofcapacitance current. Lastly the two new algorithms have been tested by thetesting program.
