Mega structure is a new-structure system of super high-rise building. It is made up of primary structure and secondary structure. Two structures work together and the mega structure has excellent whole stability and great performance. At first this paper introduces the sorting and characteristic of mega structure. Then it recounts the development of domestic and international research on mega structure.The paper analyses static performance of structure represented by mega-frame steel structure and further investigates actuating mechanism, mechanics characteristic and deformation of structure in vertical load and horizontal load.Super finite element method is a semi-continuous method to unit quadratic division on the basis of ordinary finite element division. Three-dimensional solid super finite element can imitate integer deformation of mega-frame structure. It takes advantage of method of continuous method, and it is very easy to combine with ordinary finite element together. The paper analyses static calculation with super finite element method. To compare with ordinary finite element method, it has less degree of freedom and does nothing with quantity of component. Thus it can reduce workload of calculation greatly.Finally, the paper summarizes research work, draws some conclusions and puts forward some urgent problems to be solved in further research.
