The performance safety of cars is the most important thing for either theproducer or the users. In modern car production, not only passive safetytechniques are generally adopted, but also active safety techniques are oftenused. The simulation research of lateral active safety of cars has also camethrough a process from open loop to closed-loop research. The essay focuses on a deeper analysis and study on various elementswhich influence the performance safety of cars by establishing a controllablesimulation mathematical model of car performance. The car body has sixdegrees of freedom, plus a typical car front wheel steering system model. Inthe car simulation model of the essay there's no need to introduce manyman-made hypothesis to realize a given car front wheel steering angle or anot-given one, without depending on lateral force function or related modelparameters, which needs complicated measurement. In consideration of therolling characteristic of tires , driver model and road characteristics are addedand the whole simulation system is set up on the driver-car-road basis. Theessay extracted some related model parameter from ADAMS/Car and take ansimulation study by undergoing car steering characteristic test in steady state,angle step change input test, curve road car performance check test etc. lateralactive safety test, and then have the closed-loop model and the car model inthe essay evaluated. A modularized simulation software is developed by MATLAB language inthe essay, which meets the study need in the essay and it also can bedeveloped further and in service for other simulation study of carperformance.
