Optimization of urban pubic transit networks is one of main part of big urban passenger transport traffic planning. It can effectively solve ride difficult problem in the case of limited investment, which is widely face in most of cities at the present time, and has important practical .signification. Firstly, the dissertation reviewes developmental history and sumes up actuality and existent problem of urban public transit nowadays. Secondly, the dissertation discusses demand forecast method of urban public traffic. Thirdly, the dissertation puts forward optimal model of urban public transit networks. Finally, the dissertation analyzes optimal method of urban public transit networks and applies to public transit networks optimization of Hefei. It is foundation of public transit networks optimization that is demand forecast of public transit. The dissertation puts forward model of resident trip produce, model of resident trip attract and model of resident trip distributing. In the condition of analyzing factor that impact on forecast of public transit demand and using for reference existed experience, dissertation applyes to model that have constructed to forecast resident trip OD matrix of Hefei. It is key to public transit networks optimization to optimal model and method of public transit networks. The dissertation studies optimal models of one public transit line and integer networks, discusses their restrict condition each other on the base of analyzing optimal aim and effective factors of public transit networks optimization. To compare with several optimal methods in common use, it is excellent to apply to ant colony algorithm to optimize public transit networks.
