Cable-Arch structure, a new structural form, which mainly is applied in structure of airport , library and exhibition buildings, has a good foreground in the future. In this paper, based on natural characteristic of Cable-Arch structure, Ansys FEM program was used to simulate its geometrical nonlinear behavior with beam element and cable element. With Newton-Raphson and arc-length calculation method, this paper has made research on effect of various cable style, rise-span ratio and slenderness ratio on ultimate bearing capacity. This work gives some reference for technical application of Cable-Arch structure, and the main conclusion are as follows:1. More reasonable cable layout is brought out by comparing effects of various cable layout on ultimate bearing capacity of Cable-Arch structure loaded by whole-span uniform load, half-span uniform load and concentrated load2. Optimal rise-span ratio is obtained by comparing effects of rise-span ratio on plastic ultimate bearing capacity of Cable-Arch structure;3. Ultimate bearing capacity formula of Cable-Arch structure for circular—duct section is regressed by summarizing the relationship between slenderness ratio and plastic ultimate bearing capacity;4. The most economical section is obtained by comparing effects of cable section on the plastic ultimate bearing capacity of Cable-Arch structure;5. The influence of boundary condition on ultimate bearing capacity of Cable—Arch structure is conducted in he end, and the research revealed that ultimate bearing capacity of Cable—Arch structure can be increased with applying pretension and improving boundary condition...
