A research method is described in this article about software and hardware development of the multi-detector of the live leaves. The apparatus is made up of light emitting diode (LED) , interference filter, lens, opto-electronic transformation detector, microprocessor system. Compared with other instruments, the apparatus has many advantages, such as compact space, simple structure, low power waste. The most important thing is that it's a fast detector of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and SPAD at the same time in the energetic live leaf.Power waste is fully considered during the design of software and hardware in order to make a portable apparatus. For hardware, we select MSP430F149 microprocessor with ultra-low power and select integrated chips with low power waste in low voltage circumstances as peripheral parts. For software, we can have the microprocessor to work with different low power modes by setting the controller bit of the corresponding register. The apparatus predict the concentration of the chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, and SPAD in corn leaves. Respectively, the correlation coefficients are 0.980, 0.974, 0.905, the standard errors are 0.2614, 0.0632, 2.7072, the variance coefficients are 8.97%, 9.10%, 6.46%. The results demonstrate the apparatus meets the needs of scientific research and application.
