Research On The Reformation Of Village Within City In Hangzhou

At present, the urbanization process in China has entered into the period of accelerating development, during which there appears the specific "village within city' phenomenon especially in the more developing cities in eastern coastal regions. The existence and spread of this "village within city" phenomenon has, to a certain extent, set back the further development of modern cities.The dissertation takes the main urban areas of Hangzhou city as the research region, bases on the in - depth investigation of the present situation of villages within city in Hangzhou city to do a systematic analysis of its formation, evolution, overall conditions and interior structures. The dissertation makes a classified analysis on the traits and the transforming mode of "village within city" and finally puts forward several conclusive viewpoints and countermeasures to guide the implementation of reformation.This study mainly divides into six chapters:Chapter 1 is the introduction of the study background, identifies the concept of "village within city" and "village removal and residential area construction", points out the meaning and purpose of this study, constructs the theoretical framework; and meanwhile summarizes the relative investigations and practice both at home and abroad.Chapter 2 is about the "village within city" and its reformation. This chapter deals with the characteristic of the time of its formation and evolution, analyses four stages of its evolution. The chapter bases on current reforming conditions, discusses reforming policies, location distribution, society and economy, construction and environment and other respects, dissertates the overall conditions of "village within city" in Hangzhou.Chapter 3 tells about the styles and traits of "village within city". It combs and sums up the given patterns of the classifying conditions of "village within city" in other cities. According to the traits of Hangzhou city, it puts forwardthree kinds of patters: typical "village within city", "quasi-village within city", "village in scenery", and classifies the selected 155 villages within city.Chapter 4 is the discussion of reforming models. The dissertation is according to the present reformation, puts forward two types of operation models: transferring construction and old-district reconstruction mode( involving integrated management and overall reformation). Then on the basis of two modes, an analysis is made on both its characteristics, suitability and operating conditions. It also raises three kinds of reforming dominant subjects: government, developer and village collective. At last, this chapter sums up three modes of "village within city" in Hangzhou, explores the appropriate models of each other.Chapter 5 is the case analysis of reformation. It selects Fanjia village, Meijia Wu village and XiQi wetlands as relatively typical village with city, village in scenery and quasi-village within city to further test the feasibility of its theories.Chapter 6 deals with the difficulty and the possible way out. It starts form the present main difficulty in implementing reforming projects, bases on reinforcing policy propaganda, perfecting each policies, carrying out social security, accelerating land purchasing, speeding up infrastructural construction, it finally advances some basic reforming assumptions.
