This paper mainly introduced an dynamic measurement of slipper's dimensions —"Pantograph slipper Inspection Equipment"("Equipment" for short). The basic technique used in "Equipment" was CCD (Charge Couple Device) image measurement. First, pantograph slipper measurement knowledge related to the research is introduced. And after an in-depth study of various slipper inspection technique, we draw the conclusion that non-contact inspection technique based on digital image will be a leading technique for slipper's thickness measurement in the future. Secondly, a device containing 4 CCD cameras is presented in the paper. The composition and process of the device is also given. The thesis put an emphasis on how to use digital image process to realize the measurement of slipper geometry. Including, first, hardware: the selecting of optics device, the mounting position, camera and capture card; second, software: analysis and design the algorithm of image processing; Third, the principle of camera calibration and the method of camera calibration in the design is described ,and according to the result of camera calibration, slipper's thickness is calculated; fourth, with a view to the characteristic of slipper, a distortion lens is designed.It point out the defects of the device and proposed some schemes to solve these problems.
