It is very important to investigate the roadbed, detect the orientation of diseases, reinforce the key section of highway and evaluate the result of reparation for the roadbed. With the development of ray tracing and tomography in physical geography, a new, fast, safe, effective and economical detection technology with high visible degree were provided for the application in roadbed reinforcement and evaluation. Matlab is the widely used computer language in the world and it has powerful calculated function, visible calculated result and programme, high efficiency of programme. It is very fit for the lessons and software research of ray tracing and tomography in physical geography. The image of construction under roadbed can be reconstructed and the type, orientation and the extension of ductibility of roadbed diseases can be explained by Matlab calculation and data process technology using the ray tracing and tomography in physical geography. According to the resul t of evaluation, the roadbed can be reinforced and the image can be as scientific evidence compared to unreinforced one.Based on the current step of repairing diseases of roadbed, this paper firstly introduced the general technology of roadbed diseases detection, showed the tomography of detection technology for roadbed diseases, analysed the forward and inverse model of maths, physics and response function , discussed the basic principle and methods of ray tracing andtomography in physical geography. The shortest path of ray tracing and the technology of inversion reconstruction in tomography were introduced in detail: ART arithmetic, SIRT arithmetic and other inversion methods.Secondly, Matlab were introduced in application of Matlab in the earthquake. Using simple and intuitional Matlab computer language, the model of numerical value and the private function were constructed, private function were constructed, programme were analysed, and other explanations, then following were introduced: both line and radial forward calculation , (the realization of forward calculation of shoot point and accept point in fixed gridding, the realization of forward calculation of random point of shoot and reception ), the realization of shortest pathway forward calculation by Matlab programme, the realization of several inversion calculation and some examples of numerical simulation. The error and stability (sensitivity) were analysed for inversion value using tomography and the evidence of interrelated parameter were showed for the convenience of Matlab language.Finally, according to the Matlab programme of ray tracing and tomography designed by author, the roadbed detection and in chemosynthesis grout detection reinforce in the application of technology based on the CT technology were introduced.
