The Multi-Body Dynamics software package SIMPACK is one of the powerful tools for studying dynamics of drive system of locomotive. But the locomotive model without driving moment is not appropriate for dynamics of driving unit. So driving moment is added to the locomotive model in this paper. Based on the homemade Quasi-high speed locomotive, the model with driving moment, the one without the moment and the one with simplified driving unit are set up. Dynamic behaviour of the three models is analyzed in time domain and frequency domain. So the object each model adapted to can be fixed on. The calculation in frequency domain includes Root Locii, Frequency Response and Spectra Analysis. And the one In time domain consists of Stability and Ride quality of vehicle and driving unit on tangent track. At the same time, Dynamic curving models are calculated in time domain. Specially, the differences of models in creep force-creepage relationship are emphasized. The effect of parameters of driving unit is analysed. Finally, through the analysis of the creep and the force between wheel and rail, the feasibility of studying Dynamics of electric drive system using the model with driving moment can be discussed.
