Based on the discuss of the geologic environment of the left bank abutment high slope of the JinAnQiao Hydroelectric power station, and the engineering geological conditions of rock massare carefully studied in the paper. The modified CSMR------MCSMR are adopted to perform theclassification of the rock mass of left bank abutment high slope of the JinAnQiao Hydroelectric power station. On the basis of these, the methods of the finite element analysis are applied to analyze and compute the overall stability of the high slope. The block theory is used to evaluate the local stability of the high slope. Three-dimensional model of instability packet which is made up of structural plane of rock mass of left bank abutment high slope of the JinAnQiao Hydroelectric power station is showed by procedures exploited by myself. The block theory is used to evaluate the local stability of the high slope and certain the extent of instability packet. On the basis of these, part stability of left bank abutment high slope of the JinAnQiao Hydroelectric power station is recognized.The main achievements are obtained as follows in the paper:(1) To use the criterion of effloresce and outloading, line out effloresce band and outloading band of the left bank abutment high slope of the JinAnQiao Hydroelectric power station.(2) On the basis of inquiry thorough geologic environment, research structural plane spacial distribute and architectural feature of the left bank abutment high slope , give physical and mechanics parameter of this structural plane.(3)On the basis of CSMR, this paper revise the classified method of the rock mass and set up MCSMR, then, this method is applied to this engineering.(4)Three-dimensional model of instability packet which is made up of structural plane of rock mass of left bank abutment high slope of the JinAnQiao Hydroelectric power station is showed by procedures exploited by myself . This is intuitionistic to instability packet.(5)The local unstable block of the left bank abutment high slope is few. There are about 9 instable packet.(6) Based on the two-dimensional finite element methods, the following results can be affirmed: In the slope excavating process, the base surface will rebound in the direction of the excavating surface's excerior normal, the arch abutment will rebound in the direction of the river valley, the maximal displacements are +2cm;the upstream and downstream surface will rebound in, the maximal displacements are 3 cm ;(7)The natural slope is stable. In the excavating process of the left bank , roof bolt is adopted to upstream slope and lower reaches slope of the excavating slope. There are undeterministic blocks in upstream slope and lower reaches slope, It is surgested that the prestressed cable should be used to deal with the deterministic blocks, and the prestressed anchor to the undeterministic blocks.
