The fast development of the large airplane manufacturing industry promotes the study and design of the roof covering space truss of long-span hangar. Also the improvement in the repairing equipment of the airplane put forward new request to the design of hangar: the long-span, big opening space and great weight of the hoists, which promote the development of the design of hangar. The selecting forms of the hangar are studied and concluded, and the paper analyses the mechanic performance and the economic performance of 13 different patterns of single-span and two-span hangars. The characteristics of different patterns, and we put forward the reasonable structure patterns, at the base of which two actual project patterns is confirmed. The Xiamen Taeco 4th hangar is analyzed by the meanings of the whole analysis of space truss with lower structures and by the meanings of simplified analysis, and the influence of the force and the spring react of space truss due to the lower structures. The conclusions is gotten that space truss must analyzed with lower structures. Through the study of the dynamical analysis of Xiamen Taeco hangar by the earthquake response spectrum method, finding the character of natural vibration of long-span spacial hangar under earthquake, and the responding character of the structure separately under the level and perpendicular earthquake. The paper concludes the internal force under earthquake, the regularities of distribution earthquake internal force coefficient. Also the paper studies the influence of different restrains condition to the structure. On the base of static force and dynamic force analysis, the studies are done for the designs of the The Xiamen Taeco 4th hangar. We analysed the special cases with the design of the long-span hangar, especially the nonstandard nodes in design. Based on two actual projects, the paper aims at the selecting style, analysis and design of long-span hangar. The productions we get provide the base of the theories and designs of this kind of structures.
