With the ever-increasing warming climate in the earth, solar radiation influences people's daily life more and more. As the major method of defending solar radiation, the sun-shading system of building is extensively paid attention to by western architects. Study on sun-shading system is not only the result of developing of building function, but also the main measure of saving building energy. Furthermore, it is the important mediacy of expressing building's regional and cultural characteristic.It is of long standing that many great masters have concerned about sun-shading system. This dissertation, on the basis of domestic and overseas experts' research in past years, firstly, explores its major manifestation and technique in the western building's developing phylogeny and recent Chinese residential building in details, induces its artistic quality of in the whole building system, and puts forward its developing trends in the world and domestic inquiring aim in this realm.Secondly, taking advantage of the data about solar radiative intensity in Hunan Province tested, we sum up the connection between the radiation in the zone and building maintenance construction, advance the theoretical gist and steps followed by sun-shading design, analyze sun-shading system's sorts and effect, and induce its impact on ventilation, daylighting, room temperature and architectural sculpt.Thirdly, utilizing design program for energy efficiency of residential buildings in hot summer and cold winter zones, we carry out dynamic energy-consuming analysis of the sun-shading data calculated by graphic method, and validate its rationality and value on saving energy.Last, in virtue of above aftermath, we point out sun-shading developing orientation of residential buildings in Hunan Province, offer a sort of small outdoors sun-shading device's patterns which fit in with the reconstruction of common residential buildings, and discuss the sun-shading design of great public building in the zone.
