Concrete Filled Steel Tubular (CFST) is a new type of composite material made of steel and concrete, which is easy to be erected without supporting frame, so it solves many problems of great span arch bridges well including economy, saving material, installing expediently and high carrying capacity in the later stage. Concrete Filled Steel Tubular (CFST)Arch Bridge is also a kind of bridge which is rapidly developed during the 90s last century. Based on the incompletely statistic, about twenty-three CFST arch bridges whose span is longer than two hundred meters have been constructed or are constructing, but there are less number of long span CFST Arch Bridges whose construction method is hoisting and closing single steel tubular arch rib , like You Shui River Bridge in Wang Chun, Hunan Province. The Bridge is the longest span half-through CFST arch bridge applied the construction method in China. In association with the design and construction of You Shui River Bridge, this paper analyzes and studies the structural behavior and the loading character of the half-through CFST arch bridge. In the practical construction procedure, plane FEM analysis model is used for the static analysis during the construction and service stages, while the principle of stress superposition is used to control the design; 3 D FEM analysis model is adopted for the stability analysis in construction including hoisting and closing single steel tubular arch rib and service stages respectively. In accordance with the analysis results, corresponding suggestion is presented to assure the design and construction successfully and some experience is useful for the design and construction of same type arch bridge.
