With the development of economy, the circulation of products and intercommunion of information become more and more popular, so the products must be judged by alone, credibility standard, that can make products for international market. STEP is shortened form Standard for the Exchange of Product data, it can fully express data information of products. GPS is shortened form Geometrical Product Specification, it is a series of specification about workpiece geometry, it contains all kinds of geometrical demand, correlative verify demand and calibration of measure apparatus that need express on technic drawing. STEP and GPS are related to information of the whole lifecycle products, and both are foundation standards in mechanism manufacturing. Whether they are conflict of product description, whether emphases are same, what about the relationship of them, that is the contents of this paper researching.At the same time, with the appearance of new measure principle and technology, with the applications of new material and improvement of manufacture precision, new generation GPS will gradually walk up to stage, taking the place of the first generation GPS.This paper mostly researched the relativity of STEP and the first generation GPS, as well as involved some theory of new generation GPS, and developed label system of geometric tolerance according to sort principle of geometric tolerance in the new generation GPS.The paper analyzed the system structures of STEP and GPS, then brought forward the relativities based on system structures. The label system of geometric tolerance is based on the operation system of Windows 2000, using UG and VC++ 6.0 as development tool, and running in the UG environment.At last, the paper depicted the development process of this softwaresystem great in detail as an instance of part drawing.
