The paper discusses the direct air-cooling system and the indirect air-cooling system on the technique and economy, based on the development and status of air-cooling systems in the foreign power plant. The principles and design outlines of the direct air-cooling system are emphasized. With the studies on the direct air-cooling condenser pressure alternative operating conditions, the mathematic model ant the alternative operating conditions of the direct air-cooling condenser system for the 300MW are gained. With the results a synthesized curve of the performance of the condenser pressure at different operating conditions is got. The paper analyses the economic factors of direct air-cooling system, and gets the designed back pressure through synthesizing optimization. What's more, a project of using the frequency conversion on air-cooling system that can produce the power consumption is discussed. Finally, it pointed out the application space and the widely developing prospect of direct air-cooling system.
