The increasing network makes low-frequency oscillation more and the stability needs to be considered when the newly founded electric plant is connected with the system. According to the practical requirement, taking Shanxi power network as subject investigated, the paper studies the effect of PuGuang plant on low frequency oscillation of Shanxi power grid. The paper analyses the feature of Shanxi power grid, establishes the mathematic model that is fit for stability analysis with small turbulence, programs small disturbance stability analysis program and analyses the low-frequency oscillation of Shanxi power grid. Finally, we summarize the effect on low-frequency oscillation of Shanxi power grid when the Puguang plant is connected with the power system and make a suggestion on arrangement of PSS of Puguang plant under the typical mode of operation of Shanxi power grid. The paper has guiding significance on practical operation of power grid.
