The paper analyzed the influence of electrical railway traction load to Cangzhou power system. The mathematic model of electrical railway traction load is developed. The harmonic and asymmetry models of elements of power system are also developed. Based on these studies, the software for calculating asymmetry load flow and harmonic current with electrical railway traction load is developed. The software is used to calculate the harmonic current in Cangzhou power system. With the calculating results the influence of harmonic to relaying protection, automatic control, and parallel compensator is studied. The control methods to harmonic current of electrical railway traction load are proposed.
