The development of transportation is tie up with the development of thewhole city. And its efficiency and security operated have already become thefocus that the whole society has paid close attention to. As one of the importantsubsystems of the intelligent transportation systems, Urban Traffic Flow GuidanceSystem bears important responsibility in solving the problems of transportation.After decades of development, the Urban Traffic Flow Guidance System isled and developed from Route Guidance with static information to DynamicRoute Guidance Systems, developing with the development of correlativetechnology such as communication, information, electron, control, computernetwork, Global Position Systems, Geographical Information Systems, etc. Todaywith the rapid development of science and technology, operation of Urban TrafficFlow Guidance System requires more about the quality of information such asreal time character, accuracy, variety, etc. And it has promoted the constantresearch and constant development of the information processing technology.This thesis just bases on this point. It focus the whole research oninformation processing technology and correlative content of Urban Traffic FlowGuidance System based on Information Fusion.Chapter 1 introduces the research background of the thesis. The increase ofthe ownership and public travel demand aggravate the problem of trafficcongestion, and the existing traffic control establishment cannot satisfy theincreasing demand of transportation. The emerging economic era of 21 centuryhas also new demand for traffic condition. How to solve the traffic jam problem tothe maximum extent under the existing traffic condition, it is the problem needingbadly being solved at present. ITS complies with the intelligent traffic systemdeveloping direction produced in era which is considered as most effectivemethod to solve the traffic problem.Chapter 2 presents the Urban Traffic Flow Guidance System systematically.First, describes the research and development of the whole system in differentarea such as Europe, U.S.A., Japan and china. Based on this make a classificationand comparison and analysis of the system.Chapter 3 analyzes the traffic information collection technology andinformation processing technology systematically in UTFGS. Putting forward thecontent of guidance information in UTFGS through the analysis main body ofuser and service content of the information system. Through analyzing existingcollection technology and collection objects, point out the work in back-end dataprocessing, which therefore can get the junction for information fusion to be usedin UTFGS.Chapter 4 carries on research to the data pretreatment method of the trafficinformation. The traffic information pretreatment can guarantees the accuracy anddependability of model inputs, which is very important in improving the functioneffect of the model. In this Chapter, puts forward three-step method in datapretreatment which contents discernment of lose information, distinguish ofabnormity and restoration of fault data. At last make an example of datapretreatment with the traffic information.Chapter 5 make research on application of information fusion in UTFGS. Itfirst carries on simple introduction to, expound the application in UTFGS and itsbasic theories and method, etc. Application of fusion methods focused on twosides, and they were multi-sensor traffic information fusion and forecast of trafficinformation such as travel time. Based on Kalman filtering theory, this paperpresents two models of multi-sensor traffic information fusion using the data fromseveral transport detectors aiming at the multi-sensor system during the transportinformation collection. Based on the models we set up the fusion models for threedifferent detection equipments. Based on Kalman filtering theory, this paper alsopresents forecasting model. Author test the models with the data at the end of thepaper.
