With the improvement of living level, people need better environment during work and life, and air-conditioning is required better. Air-source heat pump of air-conditioning developed quickly in recent years due to installation facility and run and work simpleness. But outdoor evaporator of air-source heat pump often frosts in winter for some region of low temperature and high humidity. The frost is one of the key problems that restrict heating condition of air-source heat pump. The defroster is essential because the frost influence function of air-source heat pump. During the defrost process, indoor heat exchanger is evaporator and absorb quantity of indoor heat. So the indoor heat and humid condition cannot be guaranteed. So, phase change thermal storage is put forward used in air-source heat pump. The air-source heat pump is defrosted by phase change thermal storage. The form-stable phase change material (FS-PCM) that the melting point is about 42℃is taken as thermal storage material. FS-PCM is filled in thermal storage equipment, and the thermal storage equipment is used matching with air-source heat pump. The aim of the thermal storage equipment is to solve unstable heating temperature and bad heat comfort in the defrosting process. The compare of numerical simulation and experimental research are used in this paper. The effect of geometric characteristic of FS-PCM and flow characteristic of heat transfer fluid(HTF) and filling mode of FS-PCM on charge and discharge of thermal storage equipment are mastered. So the theory of optimizing designing is provided, and the reference base of practical application of the phase change thermal storage equipment is provided. The key study is performed as follows. Firstly, the characteristic and development of every kinds of PCM is introduced. A new kind of PCM that researched in recently years named FS-PCM is introduced emphatically combined the practical research of board FS-PCM.
