It is a kind of development trend to change IDIS into DIS to mini-diesel engine. 165F is regarded as the research object in this paper, in allusion to the imperfection of structure and performance, carry out some improvement design, to increase economic performance and improve performance of low-temperature start. The main research work includes:(1) To analyze the structure of 165F, explain the technical difficulty of indirect injection and the solution way from many aspects include of the shape and arrangement of combustion chamber, organizing of inlet air swirl, selection of injector and so on.(2) The study way is adopted that treat simulation on process of work by FLUENT as auxiliary method. The adoptive software FLUENT is described from software structure, solve area, solve procedure, calculation model and so on.(3) Airflow is simulated by FLUENT to two types of combustion chamber, CK# and SK#. And numerical model is set up to calculate the process of airflow in chamber. As a consequence it is showed that SK# chamber can make use of squish better than CK#. Based on the analysis and structure feature of 165F, a combustion chamber is designed for DI165F. It is showed that the combustion chamber suits DIS fine by simulation.(4) The structure feature of helical intake port is described by means of summing up many test data about intake port, and it is analyzed that what effect geometry size has to performance of intake port. Aimed at 165F structure feature that it is compact, a helical intake port of short lead-channel that suits DI165F is designed. Airflow in intake port is simulated by FLUENT.(5) The calculation model of intake port - valve - cylinder -combustion chamber after matching is set up, and airflow in model is simulated in detailed. It is showed that combustion chamber and helical intake port after matching can answer the request of DI165F by force of analyzing the process of airflow movement.
