Along with the rapid development of petrochemical , aerospace , galvanization , metallurgy, pharmacy and other industries, The application of Fluid Machinery expands increasingly,Research and Development of the new special pumps with superior performance is necessarily drawn more concern. In order to supply the performance gap of high head and small flow centrifugal pump, transport corrosive, radioactive liquid medium, Abroad and home scientific researchers spread research on new type labyrinth screw pump based on labyrinth seal mechanism. Presently, our research on labyrinth screw pump is still in groping moment. Systematic design theory or design method is still not formed. However, due to the lack of knowledge about the fundamental working mechanism of labyrinth screw pump, .In order to ensure preciseness and high reliability, the basic inner flow mechanism of labyrinth screw pump is synthetically analyzed through theoretical analysis, experimental and numerical simulation ways in this paper, which can supply theory foundation for the optimal design and performance improving of this style pump. The main work is outlined hereinafter:1 .Theoretical analysis: Deduce the corresponding preliminary theoretical formula and bring forward design method of trapeziform labyrinth screw pump, Integrate professional knowledge of Fluid Machinery, Make out structure chart, accessory charts, experimental equipment. Chart.2.Numerical simulation: The PEO/E software was applied to design the trapeziform labyrinth screw pump. Software Gambit was used to carry on generating unstructured grid of the pump. The turbulent flow mode based on Standard k - e two-equation turbulent mode was adopted by commercial software Fluent to study inner flow of the pump. The SIMPLEC's algorithm was used to solve the equation. The distribution law of velocity and pressure and the primary feature of the inner flow can be gained from the compute result, which provides scientific evidence for estimating rationality of hydraulic design and profitable reference for the correlative studies.3.Experimental research: Study the performance of the experimental pump in transporting different viscidity media and different rotate speed, conduct the conversion formula and proportion law.4.Synthetical analysis: The preciseness and reliability of the design method can bevalidated by comparing numerical calculation and experiment. The performance of trapeziform labyrinth screw pump was investigated by changing geometric parameters of trapeziform screw.After comprehensive analysis, we can conclude that the given design method of trapeziform labyrinth screw pump is practical and design parameters are reasonable. The educed result has the directive significance for engineering practice of this kind of pump.
