Water-jet pump is a type of special ship impetus system. It has many advantages over the other ones, including better cavitation performance than propeller, low noise, good protection, less adjunctive resistence, simple gearing, adaption to off-design condition, good control and position, and so on. Water-jet pump has been widely applied on high-performance ship.Cavitation is special phenomena inside water pump,it can vary the distribution of velocity, cause water pump vibration, deteriorates the performance of water pump. Thus it is necessary to research on the problerm to improve the performance of pump. With the development of computational fluid dynamics and rapid improvement of computer capacity, it has been possible to research the inner flow inside water pump by numerical simulation.Numerical simulation can estimate the parameters that are difficult to measure in experiment. In the process of water pump analysis and engineering design, numerical simulation can improves design efficiency and reduces the cost significantly. Numerical method has become an important tool to design hydromechanical mechanism. The special program is developed to generate the positive curved blade , negative curved blade and back swept blade . FLUENT is used to simulate the flow flieds inside positive curved blade axial-flow pump, negative curved blade axial-flow pump and back swept blade axial-flow pump. Standard k-ε two equations turbulence model, MIXTURE multiphase model and SIMPLE algorithm method were used when flow flied was simulate. By comparing and analysing, we obtain the variation of the fraction of volume of the vapour inside pump and the variation of efficiency. Thus we know the anti-cavitation and efficiency of the pump how were influenced by different methods of generate blades. The results are good reference for engineers majoring on hydromechanical mechanism...
