The hybrid vehicle has the advantage of regenerating braking energy. Whether the braking energy can be safely and reliably regenerated depends on the distribution between regeneration braking and conventional friction braking. The simulation results of vehicle's various braking condition on the test rig have significant useful for the research of regeneration braking strategy on hybrid vehicle. Under the support of the nation natural science fund item 50305037, based on the primary requirement of regeneration hybrid vehicle test rig, a hydraulic brake system for the simulation of conventional friction brake has been designed, and the following works have been done: 1. After Comparing characteristics of different type brake system, a disc type brake device has been built to fulfill the requirement of hybrid vehicle test rig; the brake pressure parameters have been drawn out according to the requirement of the braking performance regulation (GB7258-1998). 2. Based on comparing of the performance of various electric control valves, the brake hydraulic system has been built and two duty valves have been used for the control of breaking pressure. 3. Under the requirement of HEV test rig, a measure and control system has been built, and various sensors have been calibrated. By using software VB a program on the JN338 card of rotate speed and torque meter and the PCL-1800 card of data collection has been built, and a communication program about serial port between personal computer and dSPACE has also been programmed. 4. By analyzing the response of brake system, the duty switch valve is adopted to control the braking pressure. Considering the rapid control prototype, a PID controller and a Fuzzy controller are adopted to control the brake pressure, and control results show that the precise of the PID control is better than the fuzzy control. 5. The friction resistance moment of test rig and the friction coefficient of brake disk are measured on HEV test rig. The hardware-in-the-loop simulation of brake control performance has been done by using the dSPACE RCP hardware, and control parameters are adjusted and decided. The brake performance experiment has been done based on the hardware-in-the-loop simulation, and satisfying results are achieved. The research results of the paper established the experimental foundation for studying the control regeneration strategy of hybrid vehicle.
