Quicken hydropower exploitation can optimize energy sources structure when China situates at the present economic seedtime. The middle or small hydropower has little influence at zoology but have big influence at protecting and improving environment. As a result, many developed countries in the world develop middle or small hydropower at first. Middle or small hydropower is regenerate and clean resource which the vast countries rely on. The west of China has abundant of middle or small hydropower resources, of which more than 8.6 million kwh can be exploit accounting for 62% of the total exploitation in China. At present, only 12.2% is exploited. The exploitation of middle or small hydropower has become an important part of the water conservancy and the energy sources in the opening of the west. Middle or small hydropower has great influence at capital construction, territorial economy, entironment, from rags to riches of country in the west. The ventilation system is terrible and the temperature of the generator stator exceeds the standard allowed because of many reasons such as establishment is not perfect, workshop is too narrow. So it has important applied significance to design a set of air-cooled system for middle or small power station. The paper combines the status of Hongping hydropower station in Hubei province and its structure of underground workshop, adopts computational numerical simulation, works over several kinds of different schemes which tell the way of the wind entering the hydro-generator affecting the velocity field and temperature field, puts forward a effective schemes which can ventilate and refrigerate the hydro-generator, directs ventilation reform of the station. The research process and result also have some significance to the same hydropower station.
