The areas supplied by JiangBei power supply Berea include JiangBei section, YuBei section and the new developed area of the north. With the rapid development of this area economy, these equipments are used widely, which consist of a great deal of thyristor controlled regulation circuits and rectifiers, arc stove, touch jointing equipment, silicon iron stove, high-frequency welding devices and so on. It directly leads to the pollution of JiangBei power grid and badly influences the power quality and the safety operation of JiangBei power grid. At the beginning of last year, the property of electrical loads of the main industrial consumer in JiangBei area was investigated. Therefore, the main harmonic consumers of JiangBei area include the electroplate plant. YuBei HuiXing rolling mill, Changan ford vehicle factory. Wangjiang plant and so on. We did some primary measurements at some plants and found that some harmonic contents generated by the loads exceed the limited levels of the state standards. Therefore, some further measurements and analysis were performed.According to this condition, several kinds of electrical loads were chosen to be studied for some simulation research. By the analysis and simulation, it can be seen that all those electronic equipments can produce badly harmonic pollution, which should be considered in the uses. We should take some relevant measures to reduce the harmonic effects within the limit. On the other hand, a several kinds of typical harmonic filter measures are introduced. Then, power filter is designed and added to original circuit. Simulation results of the circuit with filter indicate decrease of the harmonics in current of power supply, and the waveform is close to sinusoidal wave, which prove correctness of the solution to harmonics pollution.This thesis provides reference to the harmonic suppression of for JiangBei power grid and other area's power grid.
