| With the development of modern information technology, a burgeoning electronic application system——automobile multimedia system is getting rid of the stale and bring forth the fresh and being attaching more and more importance. Nowadays, there are so many kinds of automobile electronic application system, which have different functions. How to combine these functions such as GPS navigation, DVD player, wilreless Internet in one more powerful system has been a problem to solve at the present time. First, following automobile multimedia system's development trend, the actuality of our nation's market and the requirement and the exception, an all-around solution to the problem is proposed in this paper, which integrates these functions by embedded system. These functions of automobile multimedia system include automobile navigation system, DVD player, FM radio, TV, GPRS wireless Internet connection, sending short message. Our task is to implement these functions by software programming when all hardwares are chose and connected. The automobile navigation system is an important part in this design.This paper investigates GPS location, GIS navigation and description methods and data structure of navigation electronic map. The objective of this paper is to implant the functions of the automobile navigation system detailedly. This paper describes how to simulate the I2C bus, which is chose to communicate most of function modules, by software programming, and how to carry out another functions base it. And how to dialing-up to Internet and sending short message is carried out by GPRS are introduced too. This automobile multimedia system obtained expectant result by practical running, fulfilled the design's purpose. Sum-up of this system's characters is made, At last.
