For a long time, It is troublesome when it comes to single-phase-grounded fault happened insystem with non-effectively earthed neutral. Because the fault single is weak and is easy to receiveinfluence of disturbance, and because the variability of fault condition and movement way, somemethods already proposed and obtained the application all exist the certain flaw, they are unable toadapt the changeable fault situation.Based on the deep analysis into the fault line selection in distribution systems, the paperconcludes all kinds of methods and pays more attention to essential problem. It is a breakthrough to extract key information from fathomable electrical measurements withappropriate mathematics tool. The paper makes use of the wavelet transform to analyze the characteristicformed of transient current component (TCC) of single-phase-to-ground fault on a non-direct-ground systemand presents TCC of healthy phases to select fault line. A large number of ATP simulation prove the accurateof this approach. Thus provides a new method to fault line selection for single-phase grounded fault.
