Today, water resources in Shandong Province are in short supply and Yellow River has become the important foreign water resource, so it is urgent affair that plain reservoirs are built to regulate and to store Yellow River water. Because of the reservoir longer axial line of box dam, worse geologic conditions and soil materials for thd plain, the anti-seepage process is the key problem in the plain reservoir construction. The unfitting anti-seepage process will bring many problems. For example, the amount of seepage may be large so that water can not be stored effectively; Farmland and village behind dam may be immerged and farmland may be salinized; Seepage exit gradient may be greater than allowable value to make seepage failure and reservoir dam failure. Considering all forenamed problems, effective anti-seepage processing scheme must be adopted.At present, there are many anti-seepage measures for plain reservoir, such as anti-seepage measure by laying out clay or geomembrane, vertical treatment of anti-seepage by laying out mold, concrete impermeable wall anti-seepage, cement mixed pile anti-seepage, high pressure jet grouting anti-seepage. The optimized anti-seepage measure is chosed by considering the different geologic condition, water storage depth and engineering cost for the different reservoirs. If the anti-seepage measure is not appropriate, the investment would be increased and the original structure of soil mass would be failed to form the leakage path or influence the safety of dam.In this thesis, according to the anti-seepage design of Leize Lake Reservior in Heze City is studied. The engineering technologies of seepage cutoff in the foundation. The one reviewed the anti-seepage features, construction technology, construction cost, anti-seepage Parameters and the applicable stratum of various anti-seepage measures are analysed and compared; According to the finite element seepage calculation, the anti-seepage effects of different anti-seepage schemes included the schemes of naturalanti-seepage, horizontal anti-seepage, vertical anti-seepage, horizontal and vertical anti-seepage are studied. The sensitivities such as amount of seepage and exit gradient to the combinations of different vertical anti-seepage lengths and vertical anti-seepage depths are studied.Finally, the optimum anti-seepage scheme of Leize Lake Reservoir is chosen according to the results of FEM and the economic costs.
